U.S. Senators Urge Gypsum to Replace Toxic Dryall; U.S. Judge Makes Unprecedented Trip to Hong Kong (09-05-12)

Continuing to fight on behalf of Chinese drywall victims, U.S. senators Bill Nelson, Marco Rubio, David Vitter, Mary Landrieu, Mark Warner and Jim Webb sent a letter urging Taishan Gypsum and Tai’an Taishan Plasterboard, Chinese drywall manufacturers, to follow the lead of Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin (KPT) to replace the toxic drywall that was installed in thousands of U.S. homes and pay for the remediation of the affected homes.

In December, KPT agreed to replace all of the toxic drywall and fund remediation of U.S. homes with the toxic wallboard. The letter comes as U.S. Federal Judge Eldon E. Fallon makes an unprecedented trip to Hong Kong to oversee depositions of witnesses in drywall-related cases brought against Taishan Gypsum and Tai’an Taishan Plasterboard.
